John, what a natural talent you are. You brought some significant skills to the table, and I think we used just about all of them on this job. I appreciated the way you tackled everything thrown at you with patience and well thought through processes to always find the best possible outcome in each and every instance.

Thanks so much for agreeing to join the team once again and for taking on the challenge of the spike system with such enthusiasm and skill. It was great to work with you again and I very much hope we get to again soon!

The task of learning to use and implement a brand new type of software to indicate the scene changes for all delegate performances was one which John undertook with all of his enthusiasm and dedication. The digital spike mark software was a beneficial part of the whole show and without Johns involvement was unlikely to be as successful as it was.

Thank you for joining this extraordinary team and helping us to deliver two Ceremonies that Birmingham and the UK can be proud of. The people that have created these shows are at the core of everything we have done and we are so thankful for your work, dedication, tenacity and kindness throughout.

Your work in the CAD team was key to our success and I am incredibly grateful for your dedicated work and good humour throughout. Your skilled work and attention to detail were absolutely fantastic and it was a privilege to work with you.

John’s level of dedication in producing detailed technical drawings for both ceremonies was outstanding. This was never more evident in the detailed work he undertook in talking to all relevant departments to produce a technical storyboard of every step of the opening ceremony. This highly accurate and important document was used by all team members to plan their tasks during the two hour ceremony.

Thanks for everything John, you’ve been an amazing part of the LFPS family and I’m sure you’ll be a great asset to the commonwealth games team.
