The team at Venier joined Katara Studios as the Lead CAD Operator for the grand spectacle of the AFC Asian Cup 2023 Opening Ceremony which proved to be an exhilarating journey through the heart of production innovation and precision. Tasked with supporting the technical and operations departments, our role was pivotal in translating creative visions into tangible reality.
Working closely with the Technical Director, Technical Managers, and Creative teams, we led the development and delivery of CAD drawings, plans, and models essential for the success of the ceremony. This involved meticulous attention to detail, adhering to drawing standards, and ensuring consistency in survey information and dimensions throughout all technical aspects.
From integrating EPTS tracking cameras, broadcast cameras and various technical overlay we were fully immersed in understanding and harnessing the full spectrum of production elements. Leveraging advanced skills in AutoCAD and Rhino, including 3D visualisation and rendering, we brought intricate designs to life, ensuring every aspect of the ceremonies met the highest international standards and gave the audience something to remember forever.
