Joining Birmingham Ceremonies for the prestigious Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games was an exhilarating experience. We had a pivotal role in supporting the technical department across both the Opening and Closing Ceremonies as a CAD Operator.
It was a pleasure collaborating closely with the Technical Directors, Technical Managers and Operations team to develop and deliver CAD drawings, plans, and models essential for the success of the ceremonies. From lighting and audio to pyrotechnics and special effects, the team at Venier’s responsibilities spanned across various technical disciplines crucial for the events’ seamless execution.
We were proud to bring a fresh outlook and innovative ideas to the table on this project, enriching the overall experience of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games Ceremonies.
John’s level of dedication in producing detailed technical drawings for both ceremonies was outstanding. This was never more evident in the detailed work he undertook in talking to all relevant departments to produce a technical storyboard of every step of the opening ceremony. This highly accurate and important document was used by all team members to plan their tasks during the two hour ceremony.
